How to Form a KTE Chapter

Forming a KTE chapter is an excellent way to complement your University's career services program. Your local chapter serves to recognize students who have excelled at their co-op or internship positions. Chapters also work on their member's professional development with appearances from guest speakers, workshops on career related topics and other activities. Finally, and most importantly, KTE encourages fraternization in the form of shared experiences, community service, social activities and networking. You will have the opportunity to meet individuals from different backgrounds, cultures and locations and form relationships that will last a lifetime.

The process for forming a chapter has 3 main steps.

1. The first step is to petition the Society for Membership. Here, you must determine whether your University is eligible to join the organization and whether your students are interested in forming a chapter.

2. The second step is to organize your chapter. Here, you will elect your chapter's executive team, choose your faculty advisor, write your by-laws and pay dues to the organization.

3. Once the first two steps have been completed, the organization will formally induct your chapter into the Society. Your chapter can then begin inducting new members.
